On September 29 at 15:15 the 2023 Skytte Prize laureates Martha Finnemore and Alexander Wendt will hold their prize winners’ lectures. The event takes place at the Department of Government, in Brusewitzsalen, Östra Ågatan 19, Uppsala.

The event will be moderated by Li Bennich-Björkman, and the two prize winners will participate digitally. Attendees will have the opportunity to pose questions to the laureates and entertainment will be provided by the Snerikes nation’s choir, Sönerna. The formal segment of the event is expected to last approximately two hours, followed by a mingle.

Johan Skytte Prize

in Political Science

The Johan Skytte chair in Political Science and Eloquence is highly likely the world’s oldest active professorship in political science. The original donation made in 1622 continues to finance research and the Johan Skytte Prize. The prize money of SEK 500,000 is awarded every year by the Johan Skytte Foundation in Uppsala to those who made most valuable contributions to political science.
