We are happy to announce that we will hold a virtual prize award ceremony to celebrate the 2020- and 2021 Skytte Prize laureates, Peter Katzenstein and David Laitin, on October 1, 2021 at 17:30 CET. Both laureates will deliver their prize winner lectures which will be commented upon by the 2019 Skytte Prize laureate, Margaret Levi.
Peter J. Katzenstein and David D. Laitin are the recipients of the 2020 and 2021 Johan Skytte Prize in Political Science, respectively. On October 1, 2021 – the day of Johan Skytte’s donation to Uppsala University 399 years ago, we will hold a virtual prize award ceremony where both laureates will deliver their prize winner lectures. The lectures will be commented upon by the 2019 Skytte Prize laureate Margaret Levi. The ceremony will take the form of a livestream and will be freely accessible to all who might be interested (no sign-up or log-in will be required). This way, we make the Skytte Prize award ceremony accessible to a broader audience than ever before.
In addition to the two prize winner lectures, the ceremony will also feature the traditional posting of the laureates’ portaits on the Johan Skytte wall of fame at the Department of Government, Uppsala University, and a discussion between Li Bennich-Björkman, chair of the Skytte Prize committee, and the two laureates. The transmission will take approximately two hours.
More information about the prize award ceremony, including the topics of the two prize winner lectures, will be provided in early September.
