On January 21, the Johan Skytte Foundation board has taken a unanimous decision to remodel the format of the Skytte Prize conferment ceremony. The ceremony will from now on become a biannual event. This means that the Johan Skytte Prize will be formally conferred onto two Prize laureates every other year.
The Johan Skytte Prize will continue to be awarded on an annual basis. The annual publication of the Johan Skytte Lectures in Perspectives on Politics will not be affected.
This decision will allow us to cut the environmental footprint of the prize award ceremonies and banquets while also making them grander and more inclusive.
The next Skytte Prize conferment ceremony will be held in October 2024. This event will also mark the 30th anniversary of the prize.
